Funding

Subproject of the Priority Programme 1126 Algorithmics of Large and Complex Networks of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation).

Summary

GraphDB is partially supported by the Future and Emerging Technologies Unit of EC (IST priority - 6th FP), under contract no. FP6-021235-2 (project ARRIVAL), and by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) with DFG-Schwerpunkt no. 1126.

A first release of the GraphDB system was developed in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Michael Kaufmann, Universität Tübingen, in 2005. In the context of ARRIVAL new requirements on the GraphDB system arose. Primarily, these are data security, data safety, enhanced workflow, increased data throughput, which have all been integrated in the GraphDB system. GraphDB makes it possible for participants to exchange and archive large graphs. The user can create graph groups, graphs and metadata. Graphs and graph groups can be further specified by assigning metadata. These metadata elements can be queried. Graphs and graph groups found thereby can be downloaded afterwards. Besides integrating the new requirements, some additional security elements have been implemented accordingly, reducing visibility of data to users. Thus, when data sets are created, users have to assign the respective access authorization. At present attention is paid especially to the preparation, analysis and archiving of railroad graphs.
